Multi-disciplinary, visual and intermedia artist. Bridges visual arts, music, theater and technology.
His multilayered, pop culture & anthropology inspired works explore fundamental questions related to time and space, and travel the boundaries of perception. Monumental multimedia installations, live media performances, and immersive kinetic spaces often integrates text verses on the border of visual music and spatial augmented reality.
Rooted in experimentation since the mid-1990s, Luczynski has been an avid contributor
to immersive media, now central to 21st-century visual arts. Moving freely across creativeelds from an early age, he rejected disciplinary boundaries, explored stage arts and
music, and ultimately found his greatest freedom in contemporary visual arts. His practice, evolving from traditional visual languages through performance art into electronic and laterdigital media, re ects on the very de nition of discipline, its poetics and form, and seeksnew possibilities within immersion, mirroring the technological and cultural shifts at the turn of the century.
Engaging in video, installation, performance, drawing, painting, sculpture, light, scenography... he investigates layers of reality perception and spatial narrative. Luczynski’s deliberate selection of mediums and scales aims for resonance with the human sensorium.
Pioneer of Vjing in Europe in mid 1990′s. Worked alongside electronic musicians such asRichard Pinhas and Patrick Vidal, «new music» composers (Dickson Dee aka Li Chin Sung,Krzysztof Knittel, Wilfried Wendling, Marek Choloniewski), writers, poets (Mian Mian, Bas Bottcher, Adam Wiedemann, Vincent Ravalec, Scott Thurston) and media artists such asDaïto Manabe.
Participating in numerous and wide-ranging festivals (Paris, Beijing, Berlin, London, Sydney, Amsterdam, Bruxelles...) he has performed and exposed his works across the globe (Palais de Tokyo, Kunsthause Baselland, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, National Gallery Singapore, Museum of Modern Art Warsaw... ).
Born in 1973. Studied Cultural Anthropology at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow (1992-94), Space & Colour at Academy of Fine Art in Krakow, Pl (1994-98) & Art & Communication at the National School of Art in Toulouse, FR (1998-99),
graduated at Academy of Fine Art in Krakow in 1999.
